What's the anniversary of? Publication of W-t-P? Or WWWVY or NWAS if he was in those (which I think he was, albeit as Edward Bear)?

Well ok, technically he is 81 as he appeared in When We Were Very Young, but I couldn't find a specific date for that, so Winnie-The-Pooh as a character with a book all to himself came into being on this day in 1926.

I guess that's the best way to do it - since we don't know when the bear was created, or when Christopher Robin acquired him. Best date specifically for 'Winnie-the-Pooh' probably is the publication of the book of the same name.

That or he is like the Queen. Today is his official 81st birthday, in two years time he'll have his actual 81st birthday. Or have I just succeeded in confusing everyone?
