You think you know someone...

If we're paying attention, life constantly pulls us up short, causing us to re-evaluate our opinions. Hopefully, when we receive one of these wake-up calls, we are flexible enough to admit that we might be wrong about someone and change our opinions of them. It's as well, because people change and it's far too easy to become complacent about others: "Oh yes, I know so-and-so." Because how well can we ever know anyone, even the person we are closest to?

I received such a wake-up call on Monday morning. Dragon Dada has been doing the early shift this week and so I've been getting up with him at 6 to take advantage of the hour while the Dragonets are still abed and do a workout. I switch on the television and channel surf quickly to see if there's anything worth watching while I exercise. This was how I happened across the programme that brought me up short and got me thinking...

... I would never have claimed to know our beloved Fran intimately, but I had no idea that she had magic feet.
