Having moved house in June, six months down the line, Christmas is going to be a good test of how thorough we were with our change of address notifications. Inevitably, some people are not going to have received our new address and hopefully their cards will be redirected and then we can make sure that we give them our new details again. Nothing so far though.
However, I have realised that we have neglected to comprehensively arrange for redirection of our post. There's a card we've received for the last two Christmases that will almost certainly go to our old address because the addressee is not actually anyone with our surname. It's going to confuse the new occupants too, because they will not recognise the name.
I'm hoping that the addressee will forgive me when I tell him that his card will not be passed on to him this year (or indeed any more). Sorry, 'Mr Pete'!
I am so sorry. I'd love to make it up to you... perhaps I could order you a curry next time you visit us? Or let you order it so you get on the Christmas mailing list for our new curry house?
